Director
Jewell Leacock
Jewell Patricia Leacock is a trailblazer in the Barbadian funeral industry. As a licensed and certified Mortician and Funeral Director, she founded Leacock's Funeral Services in 2006.
Jewell's journey in funeral service began with her education at the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in 1998. Upon returning to Barbados, she began to hone her embalming skills at one of the island's leading funeral homes before gaining further experience in forensic pathology with the National Forensic Science Unit.
She re-entered the Funeral Industry with clarified focus and continued enhancing her craft at another leading funeral home. Jewell went on to accomplish personal embalming milestones and also was the first Mortician in Barbados to embalm the bodies of individuals who passed away from Covid-19 before it was a practised norm.
Beyond her professional achievements, Jewell has a rich and diverse background, including experiences in pageantry and photography modeling. She is also an enthusiast of visual art, murals and creating; channeling her creativity through various artistic pursuits. She is also an avid activist against injustice and abuse against women and children.
Jewell's career is a testament to her resilience, imagination, determination, and leadership. As a mother of one, she balances her professional life with a holistic approach to service, artistry, and personal fulfillment, making her a respected figure and role model in her community.
Leacock's Funeral Services was born as a concept to offer innovative and personalised end of life ceremonies by providing suitable memory pictures of loved ones and delivering an elegant and professional service to our clients.
